MONO PRINT COMPETITION.
In 2008/2009 there will be a single Class in this Category.
In 2007/2008 7 members participated in 2 or more
Competitions, 14 members participated in total.
Members who did not participate in 2007/2008 and who wish
to do so in 2008/2009 will join this 1 class.
COLOUR PRINT COMPETITION.
In 2008/2009 there will be two Classes in this Competition,
i.e. Advanced Class and Standard Class.
In 2007/2008 12 members participated in the Standard Class
of which the following members qualify under the Rules in
force at that time for promotion to the Advanced Class –
Les Dyson and Malcolm Matthews, both of these members
achieved the required total of 3 Awards.
13 members participated in the Advanced Class, under the
Rules in force at that time all of these members qualify
for continued participation in this Class.
It has been agreed that members may opt to use the New
Rules if this would result in a situation preferable to
them individually. For example Carol Hicks, Angela Vickers,
May Savage and Jill Flower may opt under the new Rules to
go down to the Standard Class.
Any member is at liberty to present a Panel for the
Selection Committee (Panels) to assess that members Class
for the 2008/2009 season. This facility may appeal to newer
members who were unable to participate throughout the
2007/2008 Season. Such Panels will need to be presented no
later than the date to be published in the RPS website
SLIDE COMPETITION.
In 2008/2009 there will be a single Class in this Category.
Slides may be produced using Film or Digital Processing.
Members who did not participate in 2007/2008 and who wish
to do so in 2008/2009 will join this 1 class.
DIGITAL COMPETITION.
23 members participated in the Experimental Digital
Competition in 2007/2008.
In 2008/2009 there will be a single Class in what will be
the first full year of this Competition, embracing both
Colour and Mono images.
In the increasingly popular classes we will retain 3 image
entries, but entries must be prioritized. We need to aim at
60 images for an evening, so if the entry is too large for
one evening, we may have to exercise the prerogative to use
only 2 images – in exceptional circumstances.
A list of members for classes in 2008-2009 will be
published shortly.
2009 – 2010 SEASON
Members may wish to bear in mind that in the following
season, 2009-2010, if there are sufficient entries there
may be more than one class eg colour print and probably
digital (mono and colour combined).
To be promoted into the advanced class members must achieve
a minimum of 3 awards of which not more than 2 may be
counted in any one competition. Members will move down into
the standard class according to the guidelines; ie they
must have failed to gain 2 or more awards of which not more
than 1 may be counted in any one competition.
